So it seems my defunct QCP820 wasn't a one off! Not surprising really as to get the only bung phone out of millions isn't likely. Ramsey is no doubt still waiting on the sidelines!! Hahahah Ramsey - when will you give in and stop waiting for the big one? Qdog too?

Meanwhile, I'm told there is a replacement QCP820 winging its way to me now. I hope it isn't another with the crook connectors. That seems a pretty basic mistake to have made. A bit like Q-phones falling off belts.

The results look good. But nothing startling. Much as expected. Revenue is okay, but $4bn for 1998 is looking like quite a stretch!

Mexican auctions? I suppose they are buying a few highways so that people can drive on them. No good if there aren't cdma bidders. I haven't checked the Australian auctions so don't know what's happening there.

Meanwhile, it seems Iridium is hacking the price as an introductory special - to get subscribers on line in a hurry. Good idea. For $3000 per handset, they'll have to do something to stimulate buying and P----is a reasonable way. Even for businessmen. You know what that means? It means that Motorola will make the profit from handset sales and Iridium loses out!! Initially only. Then Iridium will pick it up when the system is busy. Maybe they have figured this p-----g business out. That will force Globalstar to do the same. Phew! Isn't competition wonderful?

Qualcomm will make money from the Globalstar handsets, so they are in a good position.

[I am owed a very, very big, fat, lunch! Qualcomm up from $48 recommended buy to around $66 = nearly 40% increase. And GSTRF down from $72 to $67 in the same time. A VERY big lunch. And Qualcomm should carry on to $80 as the new paradigm rulz become increasingly understood. Meanwhile, Globalstar launch tomorrow, today or one of these days, whichever it is at the moment or then.]
