Rounding the far turn, it's DELL Computer jumping out in front (+4 11/16)followed by Lucent Technology (+2 11/16) and Cisco Systems (+1 11/16) Bringing up the rear, Compac, Telabs and Erricsson. Still in the starting gate Orcale. Still in the barn, Sun Microsystems. Scratched by the officials (DOJ) Microsoft. Tomorrow: Coming down the home strech!

GO DELL!

Chuzzlewit,

I certainly hope that the McNabbs covered some of their shorts before the recent price increases. As I recall, they were short a bunch of DELL in the 45-50 range (average), and I think they were short AOL, Yahoo, and Amazon, as well. I seem to recall that DELL represented only a small part of their short position.

Whether they covered or not, they will have some reasonably large write-offs for their long positions this year. How about that analyst who considered DELL a strong sell? Wonder how many happy subscribers he has?

DELLish, 3.
