The mighty Intel stumbles again:

Intel showed their cards yesterday and all they had was a lousy pair. The market is responding with a rousing little rally in NeoMagic. Intel's admission that they will not have a meaningful competing product until sometime next year puts them out of the picture to meaningfully impact Neomagic's profitability for at least two years.

Intel's first integrated graphics product will appear in about a year in desktop systems and then perhaps six months later for notebooks. At that time they will be in a position to make some design wins mostly in the low end category. It would be about six months after that before they could conceivably make any noticeable impact on NeoMagic's business.

NeoMagic has plenty of time to react to Intel's threat and that's assuming that Intel can really pull it off even in the above extended time frame.

This announcement removes all the uncertainty surrounding Intel's braying about integrated graphics products and unhinges every bear's right to rumble about our little super star.

So Solid, we are now ready to really move in a Northerly direction, unfettered by the chains of doubt, unburdened by the weight of fear. Clear sailing to the farthest horizon. Our little flower shows off her colors and entices your soul with her sweet perfume.
