Well Pete, there's a joke gone bad. Sometimes they're like that they just up and turn around and go right after you. I once had a whole bunch of them. I left them out on the dresser overnight and next thing I knew they had gone flat.

Now flat isn't quite as bad as just having them go bad all at once. But let me assure you that flat isn't good either.

The word jokes like just making up a word, like say "elementalism", are particularly dangerous. Because these can actually turn out to mean something. Not only that, they can sometimes mean something quite the opposite of what you intended. Next thing you know someone that knows something about a made up word comes along and there you are faced with having to own up to a joke that has gone bad.

Off color is high risk. When they go bad, there's often no place to hide. Try as you might, expect No Shelter. When those puppies go to the other side, you are hanging. I mean, everyone can see all at once what a mean spirited boor you can be. Very dangerous. Keep away from those at all cost. If you even suspect them of going bad, don't even think about putting them in your wallet for later use. Better to leave the house with a handful of the flat ones.

So anyway, you were eruditing on elementalism, and quite frankly I haven't the slightest idea of what it means, any more than those psychiatric terms that I threw out earlier that don't seem to peak your interest.

In actual fact, I'm betting that by now you are sorry, that you have set me off about jokes going flat and all. So I'm thinking, I am going to have to just come out and admit that I haven't the slightest idea about what elementalism is, except that it seems likely to be pretty elementary.

Then I am going to have to thank you for giving me some information about a new word that I have just added to my vocabulary.

Balderdash anyone?
