Networm: As I understand it Rule 431, which concerns maintenance calls and adjustments to buying power is a very complex issue. There's going to be a revision in about 6 weeks. The rule is in hot dispute because NYSE & NASDAQ are supposed to be operating under the same rule, yet NASDAQ is not. Some clearing firms may require extra cash be there, others do not. I believe there's even lawsuits concerning this issue. You'll have to talk with the compliance officer of the firm your dealing with. It's their call. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Dominick
