By preannouncing products and features that competitors are attempting to create, in order to undermine financial and market support for those competitors without ever having the intention to ship the products mentioned (or blatently lying about when the products will ship when a competitor is ahead -- 10 years for pen windows!). Additionally, they have repeatedly and successfully stolen competitive advantages and protected this theft in court. The result is people try to stay out of MS's way rather than compete with them. This is the definition of destrying innovation and creativity. If you were in the software industry this would all be very obvious because you would have worked for a company that had this happen to it. (Its happened, literally, to every single company I've worked for at one point or another, excepting when I worked at Microsoft (and then I got to see them do it.)) Dragonfly
