I lost faith and sold my last shares yesterday. I think this type of solid earning, product oriented, non-glamorous company will only do well when there is a need for the wall st people to leave the other catagories of equities. I have no doubt that will happen in the near future but I am not a properly patient person. Ster makes a good living doing all sorts (spices, surgical, poultry) of gamma radiation sterilization. The kicker is that it has FDA approval to irradiate beef. This is the only practical way to guarantee the safety of large distribution of raw meat products. Unfortunately the meat industry is not ready, nor is there much public support. Agriculture department approval has not been made. All this would change with one good poisoning incident. I felt ghoulish betting my investment on some furure great tragedy, so as soon as Ster rose to my purchase price, I sold. What I bought was a stock that exploits the same industry but with bio-degradeable packaging-ERTH. It traded 2 1/2 million shares yesterday at under $15. A good price, I think. Was rated a BUY by two national brokers on 4/20. I still think STER is a great company with a great future but I see nothing new to change its sluggish market action. If you hear of something new please Email me.
