To MB Trading: I read that traders on MB Trading were phoned and told to cover their KTEL short earlier today. Supposedly this call came from Terra Nova (TNTO).

Is there any truth to this, and if so, why would TNTO force someone to cover a short as TNTO is not the brokerage?

MBTrading has a list of about fifty stocks that are hard to borrow and therefore unavailable for shorting. If a stock is marginable and not on that list then a trader may go ahead and sell it short with the click of a button.

There are always some stocks that are just not going to be shortable. That is a fact of life.

Cramer at the TSC wrote a great piece about trying to short a stock and there was not a share to be had anywhere.

MBTrading thru Southwest Securities has one of the very best setups for daytraders who like to short.
