NAUPA TO INTRODUCE STATE SPONSORED National Unclaimed Property Database ATLANTA, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) announced today that it will present its new State Sponsored National Unclaimed Property Database system (SSNUPD) to state administrators at its mid-year meeting, April 23-24 in Annapolis, Md. biz.yahoo.com Recently, NAUPA selected Atlanta-based CheckFree to develop and operate the SSNUPD, a database that will provide a new way for the public to gain access to information on unclaimed property nationwide through a single site on the World Wide Web. Participating states will be able to provide records to CheckFree's central database. "The Association selected CheckFree because of its proven expertise in processing transactions and its extensive knowledge of government and compliance issues," said Steve Larson, NAUPA Executive Officer and Treasurer. "Additionally, we felt CheckFree had the most experience and the most technologically advanced resources to develop this important system, which, once completed, will include between 50 to 100 million names, nearly one third of the United States population," said Larson. "This database will save time and money for the states that process millions of property claims every year," said Frank J. Amoruso, Senior Vice President of CheckFree's Software Division. "Furthermore, individuals will now have a much easier way to claim long-lost valuables and property."
