Dave,

The San Diego Union has a pretty negative article on the earnings release this morning. A few analysts were quoted and they all are talking the stock down.

Maurice, if stock takes a hit today, it will be another buy opp (btw, to alleviate your concerns about my financial welfare, I do have my core QCOM shares now but would like to add more). When is the last time QCOM has a meaningful PE? No need to restate here but all QCOM followers pretty much know the pros and cons.

Every company has Asian problems last qtr with QCOM disproportionally hit due to presence in Korea. If this had happened a yr or two later, when QCOM/CDMA is more diversified geographically, Korea would have been inconsequential. Every manufacturer runs into unexpected problems, some can't even get a product to market.

I have a lot of respect for the analysis by most Wall Street analysts. Their conclusions and recommendations, however, may be distorted by the interest of their respective employers. QCOM's institution ownership, per Zacks, is around 37%. May be the street is looking for a buy opp also.
