Many people and many historians don not consider the Bible to be "literally translated", but to be parables. I am not saying who is right or wrong. I am certainly not that smart. What I am saying is that the logic of saying that I think the Bible is literal, therefore every word taken at face value proves tht it is meant to be taken literally is circular logic. I'll give you an example. Let's say that I have a rod that I claim is a divining rod for the truth. You are skeptical, so I tell you I will prove it. I then ask the rod if it divines the truth. It answers affirmatively. As a non-believer in the rod, you wouldnt exactly take that as proof, would you?

Sincerely
mark

I am NOT trying to denigrate the Bible or anyone's belief in it.
