*** V.90 advertisement ***

This week's issue of Business Week had 2 full page
ads from 3Com. The first one was for the 56 V.90
modem. The other one was for the Palm III.

Possible good sign?

Joe

Internet Service Provider First In U.S. To Launch Standards-based
3Com Cable Modem Service; Pennsylvania Residents Gain High-Speed
Internet Access with Simple Self-Installed Modem
03:02 p.m Apr 22, 1998 Eastern

YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1998--BlazeNet, a York-based
Internet Service Provider (ISP) and sister company to Susquehanna Cable, marks
another milestone as the first ISP in the U.S. to offer cable customers super
high-speed Internet access with 3Com's U.S. Robotics cable modems.

Unlike previous cable modems, these Multimedia Cable Network System
(MCNS)-compliant modems represent the very latest industry standard. They will
soon be available for purchase at select retail locations and can be used on other
cable systems which offer comparable services.

BlazeNetExpress telco-return cable modem service, using 3Com's latest product,
provides download speeds approximately 10 times faster than with current 28.8
Kbps analog modems, and uses a 33.6 Kbps telephone modem to send data
upstream (back to the Internet). Download speeds reach at least 256K with bursts
up to T1 speeds being common, delivering data faster than many corporate office
connections.

The latest in its line of Internet services, BlazeNetExpress enables telco-return
cable modems to be installed by the customer, thereby eliminating installation fees
and inconvenient installer visits. The internal modem's plug-and-play feature allows
for quick and easy set-up. Any changes to existing MCNS information will be
updated via online software and will not require a technician's visit to the customer's
home.

"The telco-return modem service allows us to offer high-speed Internet access to
all the cable subscribers in our region without waiting for a rebuild of the entire
system. And, the service is reasonably priced at $29.95 a month," noted Patricia
Britton, BlazeNet's vice president and general manager.

"The U.S. Robotics cable modem has arrived, signifying the next generation of
Internet access, a powerful brand and -- at last -- the retail business model," said
William Markey, director of marketing for 3Com's Cable Access group."We are
pleased to support BlazeNet's exciting growth into multimedia services, and put our
networking and marketing strength behind their success. It is another historical
'first' for Pennsylvania and the entire cable industry."

To further increase speeds, BlazeNet utilizes proxy servers which store popular
sites and decrease download times. A wide range of business services including
high speed Internet access; wide area network (WAN) connectivity and VPNs;
custom Web site design, hosting and maintenance; and monthly seminars and
training classes are also available from BlazeNet. These services are currently
available in York, Hanover, Harrisburg, Hershey and Williamsport, PA, as well as
Baltimore, MD (cable modems currently available in York, PA only).

3Com cable modems for one-way service will soon be available in other selected
BlazeNet/Susquehanna Cable locations, including Williamsport, Pennsylvania and
Pearl, Mississippi.

The modems themselves come from a known name in the industry. Under the U.S.
Robotics brand, 3Com has sold more modems worldwide than any other supplier.
With telco-return and cable-return modems, 3Com offers a complete
data-over-cable system for high-speed Internet access. The company recently won
"Best Vendor" at RetailVision 1998, and the U.S. Robotics VSP and VSP Plus
cable modems have received BYTE Magazine's 1997 Best of Comdex award for
Best Networking Infrastructure.

3Com Corporation enables individuals and organizations worldwide to communicate
