I am not in a position to disagree with specific user experiences, but the reality is that there are millions of PC's in corporate environments that are delivering.

Interesting to note that only UNIX folks are replying! Not sure what that means, other than UNIX folks tend to be pretty passionate.

I shaved my beard off, but I still know grep and perl and write character based unix code and HL7 medical interfaces etc. I've been there, done that, in mission critical environments. Hey, I've been on MVS and VME too. Even a little VMS.

Compare the market for all those OS's with the market for WinTel; compare the amount of money that people have made, and lost on WinTel vs all the rest (this forum is about investing, isn't it?). Then come back to me with a discussion on why we should all ignore "Winblows".

I'm a right tool for the task guy. Both have a place. "Winblows" currently has a big big place
