i too, had missed opportunity in Oct. because of inability to connect. now i worry about the next several weeks, as i see another volatile situation coming up. if it should get real wild i'm afraid i will get shut out again. of course, i could try to guess the degree of movement and put in a GTC, but say your playing short the market and it gets into an October scenario, you wouldn't get a chance to change your order. i am really worried about this situation, i am more ready at this time than in October, with significantly more cash on sidelines and will be really pissed if i don't get at least part of a big move...whether up or down. Furthermore, it just shows our dependence on computer systems and Y2K and other scenarios are quite scary and really nothing you can anticipate. carl
