Isn't that the kind of thing he is getting paid for!

If he's not willing to make the effort, we should find someone who is.

To be fair to Jenkins, there are a great many large corporate manufacturing clients who have a blanket policy of not allowing P.R.'s by their vendors, of any kind. Even those that are receptive generally have an approval process that can easily take weeks or months...I've been there, done that.

The most effective way that I've found to achieve a quick OK to a P.R. is to include it as part of the negotiations in the sales process, *not* after the fact. Of course, there is an expectation of quid pro quo from the client, which typically means some type of discount or extra level of service...
