I thought that a PFE shareholder (as opposed to us option holders) said recently on this thread that it required a shareholder vote to have a split. I inferred that that would preclude an announcement tomorrow. It is an important point, of course, for short term traders. Does anyone have a clear understanding of this?

It'd be nice to hear a split announcement, but I don't think that's all that probable. What I'd like to see is a spinoff or selling of their medical technology division, that'll lift the stock nicely since that division is growing only in the single digits. If they dump it for a decent price, earnings growth should automatically increase well above the current 16%+ growth, as they increase their focus on their hugely successful pharmaceutical division, as should the stock price.
