Paul,
RE: "Once again, I scoff at your RIDICULOUS statement that the PC
industry peaked in 1995 because it is patently WRONG!"

That's a perfect example how an Analyst would get the wrong read on the PC industry. He wouldn't look past the 137 Billion to see that it was due to cheap memory.

Bravo for your answer.

BTW...once past 79.5, Intel did break out strongly...didn't it?
Now, how can we figure how far it will run?

Jim

Paul - Intel is up. The market must be wrong. INTC's supposed to go down. Kurlak told us. Albert's his money flow told us. Fleckenstein told us. CNBC told us over and over. And Briefing.com told us too. I think some Technical Analyst on the thread told us that doomsday was coming.

Actually, INTC is very volatile and lurches in either direction with surprising vigor. Not for the faint-hearted. A couple of up days does not signify anything (AMD had a couple of solid up days right before announcing and then just slid back). This latest lurch appears to be the result of Andy and company saying again what they had already said publicly - solid new high margin products are in the pipeline and the channel glut will work its way through the system. No real news for anyone who follows Intel. Darn. Just when I had decided to nibble some more if it hit the sixties.

Thanks for all your valuable input in the face of the ill-natured hectoring you receive.

Best regards,
Burt

Jeeze, Paul. Are you hinting that maybe Intel might not go out of business with the $500 PC as some thought and that now maybe "dah Market" is starting to recognise it?

Also, I don't know of too many companies that grow from $40M to $60M in one yr followed by another $20M the next that don't need a year or so to regroup before assaulting new growth.

More on why I thought he $500 PC would be good for Intel long term at
suite101.com

regards
Kirk out

Why did memory crash? Overcapacity. It's a good thing that's not happening in the CPU business this very moment. ;-)
