Hi Mark,
The last 2 days has seen way above average trading in WDC and today in SEG too. Any ideas as to the reasoning?

Hi Mark;

<<Stitch, both Innovex and Hutchinson seem to say they see demand picking up from here. Innovex says it's probably the bottom of the cycle. What do you think?>>

It looks like their is some relief at the high end. Both W-D and Seagate are seeing some pick up in orders for enterprise drives. Did you see EMC's report? Looks good.

<< Does Ramadan put much pressure on drive manufacturing?>> I think the holidays you are referring to is likely the Asia wide Spring holidays which vary a bit from country to country. Japan starts their "Golden Week" at the end of this month for example. I don't think it will have a drastic effect but every little bit helps. Here in Malaysia most businesses are not shut down but the pace slows as parents take leave to be with their children who get two weeks off between school sessions.

<<Hutch says there are only 3 companies that could buy their TSA components for suspensions. Is that true, or do they fail to recognize captive demand from companies like IBM? What companies do you know are making their own suspensions in house>>

I don't know if Hutch is considering Fujitsu and IBM, both of whom use a internally made trace like suspension. I also understand Read-Rite is developing a suspension. Others I am less sure of. For example...I am not sure what Seagate does though I know they buy a lot from Innovex.

Hope the above helps.

Best,
Stitch
