Here is something from the Yahoo board (Note: I do not take such speculation seriously):

"My source is good - Alcatel offered DSC $28/share. DSC rejected.
Alcatel will make another offer soon."

If that were true, I am sure management would be holding out for $20/share. That is the way they would do business.

In the last conference call, the one for the earnings warning, the chairman seemed to make a commitment that DSC would see a sustained turnaround in the second half of 1998. I wonder what that meant? Third quarter? Fourth quarter? Is the commitment even believable? His track record over the past few years has not been reliable nor credible!
