It's the game of the much disparaged Middleman/woman:

The farmer gets $3.50 for a bushel of wheat, which would make about a dozen decent loaves of bread.

The store sells each loaf $1.69+ (day old store: $1 ea.)

Guess who gets the difference between the $3.50 raw material cost and the $20.28 (12x$1.69 retail price) for a bushel full of bread loaves?
