Emile,
If he portrayed your words in the wrong light, show us how. We have quoted your words and shown you the proof you were wrong. How were you mischaractereized?
Mark

Emile,

I haven't seen any comments from you re: my post #14291
Message 4119532
I can see you've been pretty busy.

I'm starting to see, albeit not quite in focus, what I consider to be... hmmm... distasteful in your posts. I think you're presenting the belief in Jesus as a moral issue. This is equivalent to saying, "if you don't believe in this god, then you are morally incorrect." Actually, you go further by considering it evil as opposed to just morally incorrect.

I think it is a flaw in any belief system to label as evil those who do not believe in its god(s). It's one thing to say, "You are not to have any other gods before my presence. ... you are not to bow down to them, you are not to serve them, for I, YHWH your God, am a jealous God. [Ex. 20:3-5]" It's something significantly different to say, "If you say Jesus is not the Messiah, then you are spreading evil and/or you are evil incarnate. [I hope I'm paraphrasing you correctly.]"

Do you think that faith, in and of itself, is a moral issue? Why? To quote/paraphrase a favorite, fictional, pointy-eared fellow, "That does not seem logical."

Forgive me if this post seems a little fuzzy... I am just trying to convey a feeling which has yet to reach clarity in my mind. I continue to read the NT.
