Paul, >>>And Intel has a lock on all these high margin segments!
That's one of the reasons Intel is up $5 1/8 today!<<<

TDFX went down 4 7/8 today because of yesterday's report that Intel will sometime next year integrate auxilliary chips for handling graphics and logic functions into one piece of silicon.

What is your assessment of this announcement. What will the impact of this be on the small, specialized chip makers like TDFX?

Regards,

Mary Cluney

Paul and All,
Your,

" And Intel has a lock on all these high margin segments!
That's one of the reasons Intel is up $5 1/8 today!"

Yes, that is true, but if I can amplify.... I think investors finally opened their eyes to see beyond the short term. They realized yesterday, at Intel's meeting with analysts in NYC, that the
KILLER APPLICATION IS HERE!!
It is called
"E-COMMERSE" DOING BUSINESS ON THE INTERNET
and the two companies that will profit the most from the infrastructure growth are, as we have previously discused, INTC and CSCO.
Kudos to Intel for their presentation yesterday.... and... Kudo's to all of us long term investors that hung in there.
Best Regards,
Jules

RE:Morgan-Stanley/Mark Edelstone re-iterated their upgrade/Strong Buy for Intel and cited the good growth in >$2000 PCs, the good outlook for Server and Workstation growth rates.

Dear Dr. Engel:
The above is not the reason for this week's strength. The reason is is that I wrote calls at 70. (inqen @5.25).
Lost a lot, but covered at the open yesterday.
As everybody knows, when i buy INTC it goes down. Now we know that when I write cc's it goes up.
Lots of luck to all,
Still sleeeping with the DEVIL.

Ed.

GO FLYERS!

Paul,

<...good growth in >$2000 PCs, the good outlook for Server and Workstation growth rates...>

>$2000 PC's? Workstations? Servers? What the hell, I thought these were obsolete concepts.
