Results of the earnings plays THAT WERE CALLED AND CAME INTO BUY TERRITORY.. 65+ point gain in 3 days. Even the ones that did not do that well were in a very small majority (ANLT, CHRZ)and they were never in BUY territory. TKLC was another that came into BUY territory but subsequently tanked. PSFT was overbought and I thought the play was risky. THE REASON I calculated this (very loosely) in essence because these were not from a GENERAL watch list. I never take credit or calculate the results of the general watch list unless 1) some 'earnings plays' are interspersed within it. 2) I called the play BEFORE it made a gain and others were able to get in. As you all recall this is part of my MarketGems "BETA" version newsletter and I am getting feedback for possible changes in the future. I've already got lots of good ideas for the future. THQI 4+ gain intraday and plenty of action first part of the week but (subsequently succumbed to profit taking) AVEI 4+ (subsequently down and never regained strength) WIRE 2+, SBUX + 1 1/4, ALK +2, TAN up 2 13/16, MSPG + 9 (two days), ACAI +2, NVLS +6 in 2 days), RHI 3+ (2 days) NETA +6, CTXS +5 7/8, LU + 2 1/4, SPCT +1 1/16, CAH +4 1/2, DIS +(6), (in after hours) AHM +2 11/16, SBUX + 1 1/4, WIRE +3 RL + 13/16, LCE +4, LADF +2, AXNT +3, AVID, ITWO,ATMI, VSIO, XEIKY, TLAB all were up. CHRZ, ANLT were down. I know this has to do with momentum of the NASDAQ but the biggest gains came after the report. Even PSFT was good for an anticpatory upswing day of earnings. Still might want to watch ITWO which has corrected a bit after being on a run also. I would still look to see further breakout possible and look to the other ones on the list for Thursday/Friday. It was a much better for earnings plays than for the rest of the market. Maybe someone out there can do a 'graph' of earnings plays compared with the rest of the market. jennamarketgems.com marketgems.com
