Glad to hear that there are some credit cards out there with
year 2000 expirations. I was clued into the potential problem
about 6 months ago when I received a card with an 11/99 expiration.
I compared it to my previous one, and realized that they had not
advanced the expiration date as far as before. I then found a
NY Times article on the possibility. The problem was not with VISA,
but with all the merchant level transaction processing hardware.
It occurred to me that VISA could get its act together and still
have major problems if the jillions of merchants didn't pay up
to fix their systems as well. Let us know if you have
any trouble using your new card.
