hal,
You're not really hal 2000 are you? <gg> I agree that 40 million christians is a high estimate as that would have partially depopulated the axis territory at the time and also would have been humanly impossible to exterminate that many people in camps. I had understood that about 2 million christians joined the 6 million jews in death and they were largely in the camps for hiding jews from the nazi's. I do wonder why this is not brought out more clearly in history. But I wonder if what Emile is driving at is that 40 million perished fighting hitler and the nazi's and these people were largely from "christian" nations although a large part of them were from the USSR which was not a christian nation.
I don't keep up with the thread regularly and try to avoid being a part of the "flame-athon" that is a regular part of the conversation here. I don't like the name calling and so forth. All have sinned and fallen short so why throw stones at someone, remember what Jesus said to the men who brought the adultress before Jesus. Also, why didn't they bring the man too? He was also guilty and according to the law should have been stoned. A double standard? Jesus had to have seen through their hypocrisy.
