WilliamIII: I know, It's a technique that I use to reassure myself.

Wil: I used to put in "market orders" with Schwab, on line. However, with fast moving stocks I found myself caught up in a "buy" at a price much higher than I wanted. With a stop order I get at chance to view the current quote right before I hit the agree to purchas button. I did this today with Nextel, only, the time it took Schwab to process the order (fractions of a second) the price was moving fast above my "buy price". Strategy then would be to immediately change the "buy" to to the current "ask" and make the deal. However, at that precise point, my secretary barged in my office and said "Ron is here for his 9 appointment, are you ready?" I then answered "no" and turned toward the screen to re-enter the purchase. It was too late, Nextel rose above my "buy" price. At this point I could have caused my client to wait while I chased the price up to 30, or, said "no way, my business comes before buying Nextel." I said "no way"

The truth of the matter is, at 28 3/16 I planned to buy regardless of what negative thoughts I had. No deal at 28 1/2. Nextel has done this before, teased with a short burst, then fell through the floor. Today was different, so I lost a quick gain, big deal, life is not over.

Al G., still enjoying life at the train station, the girls with short dresses are looking good. Think I'll try the airport next.
