I don't think they tried. We've had plenty of oppty here, too. I think the Fed thinks all they have to do is talk.

Simon, we are still quite far from where Japan was in 1989. As a matter of fact, with corporate buybacks factored in the yield difference between long bonds and the Dow is not particularly wide. Of course, if a small portion of the Japanese Postal Savings system find its way to these shore, that will be another story, but from much higher prices, IMHO.
