Gosh, I sure hope they've stumbled again, but you have to realize who their buyers are, PH. I work for one of them. State government IS depts are run mostly by ninnies and I'm sure it's not much different at the federal level. I get a silly little rag -- how I got on their list I don't know -- but it's called CIVIC.com. Covers government spending on IS. Our state made the cover last month. They have contracted with GE capital to manage all PC type equipment purchase contracts. Guess what GE Capital gets -- off the top -- 6%!!!. I was shocked -- the article was bragging about how great a deal this was for our state. The article went on further to state that GE had a web site where purchase prices on the contracts could be looked up -- but a purchase had to be arranged via phone or fax!! Now I'm typing this from my new GTW E-3110 which just replaced a P-75. That P-75 would do everything I needed it to do, but I had to have this one. The funny thing is -- they put all the apps on the network including MS office. Runs slower than the office I had on my '486 when I first started here and all the apps were on my machine. The other night I got ticked about it -- wiped my hard drive and installed all the apps from the network to my machine. Voila -- I don't watch the hour glass for 45 seconds to a minute while waiting for help to come up. Well the upshot of this is: People buying for government, if my state is typical, and they were heralded as leading edge in this rag I told you about, well I doubt they have the sense to comparison shop or the good sense to know when additional expenditures aren't getting them any value added. All that said, this stock will be back in the teens by the end of the year. Prices are really plunging and they are not coming back. The idea that DELL or GTW can cherry pick the high margin PCs is laughable. Going, going, gone ...
