John,
I don't have my files handy at the moment but I seem to recall that one of the trials should that Lidakol was just as effective as the cream version of valacyclovir. I am going from memory so I may be wrong as some of the names are similar. But if this true then I agree that Lidakol would be superior due to being much safer.

John a couple of posts on yahoo suggest Merck might be talking... to be fair these guys are in deeeeep and .... but then again they may be
on the level... I guess I am to lazy at this time to make calls etc.. but what do you think...
