Lisa:

The difference between Viagra and Pinto is there were no clinical trials with the Pinto. I believe the scope of the problem was known only after people were crisped after the product was on the market. It was then that Ford made a calculated decision to keep the product on the market as is rather than spring for the $10 part that would reduce the danger of explosion. That was when they did the cost/benefit analysis.

Viagra has been in Phase I, II and II clinical trials, and any problems with deaths in the test groups would have had to have been presented to the FDA. Ain't no way FDA would have approved the drug if there were unanswered questions about its safety. (do I put too much faith in my government???)

JMHO.

[BTW, did you know some guy has surfaced and is saying he knows who paid Lee Harvey Oswald....?]
