Judy: <<I planted a curry plant in my garden.>> I am not sure what this plant is. I wonder whether you planted MINT herb( genus Mentha).You have to give us a botanical name. Curry powder is a preparation of many spices, including turmeric (hence the yellow color) and coriander. JP

'mornign Judy: Thanks for visiting the thread. You know,I don't seem to know exactly which 'curry plant' you are referring to here. There is a 'Curry Leaf Plant' which I am familiar with,it is used in South India a lot.This particular plant I am talking about has small leaves and the green leaves are sort of lightly fried in oil,along with chopped up shalots(sp?) and mustard seeds and this is used to garnish various curries.Actually someone asked about this earlier on the thread and you can find some information if you go back a ways and look at the postings, I believe I have posted a link or two to curry leaf information. Anyway curry powder as you said is a mixture of various spices and do not include any sort of a curry plant as far as I know. Perhaps someone will post here about the curry plant you are talking about etc.
