I'm not sure what you're saying. I am quite familiar with that article and it is on balance pretty accurate.

If it is used to explain all the ills that befall a stock, then it is not valid, which is what I think you mean.

But make no mistake, most BB stocks that are shorted are shorted without first "borrowing" shares. Especially those that continue to be shorted at ridiculous levels.

I doubt most MMs would legitimately short 6 or 7 cent stocks since the upside risk is so devastating. But unabashed off shore shorting of phantom shares does occur.

Nevertheless, most short squeeze attempts are really attempts to stimulate buying in anticipation of the short squeeze. It is usually THAT buying that moves the stock price rather than the squeeze being touted.
