Yes, that's exactly what I am talking about. After talking with Ancor many times over the last couple of years, I don't think the technical issues are really a problem. (When I bring up an idea, they say something to the effect that it would be trivial to do that. <g>) They clearly have the technical expertise, but perhaps not the resources to do some of these things. (They may also not see the market the same way I do.)

How about "MKII FGE"? (FGE = Fast/Gigabit Ethernet)

I would think that there would be some real advantages to having everything in one box, and using one backplane, at least for the GE/FC traffic.
