Richnorth,

The Pope is right when he says the millennium year 2000 is not the judgement day because according to the 70th week of Daniel we would now need to be 4-5 years into this period which we are not.

The Pope is wrong, however, maybe he needs to reread passages in Scripture. There is no misleading in God's word. When Israel makes a covenant (Isa 28, 15,18/ Dan 9:27) with the Antichrist unknowingly this start the last 7 years. We as believers will know when this event happens.

I am shortly going to start a 70th of Daniel thread that will be quite interesting if we read the Bible in the passages that are quoted. A lot of people should have a better understanding of these last 7 years.

Well, Rich, I sure don't think anyone here could make that statement of fact either. It just isn't a fact that can be stated. Jesus said, "the day and the hour no man knows, but the Father." But He also instructed/commanded those who believe in HIM to watch and it would be apparent when this totally unique timing was upon us. That's all that's happening. People are watching.

You know what else He said when we were sure it was indeed that time? To run into the streets and beg the wicked to repent? No.
To run and do lots of good deeds to look good all of a sudden? No.
To fall on our faces and wallow in hopeless depression over the end of the Ages? No.

First of all He said, Get Happy! Because I'll be coming very soon after that. And second, He instructed all who notice to "pray earnestly to be accounted worthy to escape these things which must come to pass AND BE NOT CAUGHT INSTEAD IN A STATE OF SURFIETING AND CAUGHT UP IN THE CARES OF THE WORLD.

Surfieting is drunkeness. Very, very interesting warning to Christian partiers and empire builders. HE didn't warn to not be in gross sin--He warned to not be numbed to the warnings.

I find that very interesting, and if you don't, it is a Christian warning to Christ-followers, so of course you don't have to be impressed one way or another, any more than I would probably be if you pulled something dead from the Book of the Dead and read it to me as spiritual blissout.

I just balance the words of the Pope, which to me is a man who has gone far astray from the teachings of Christ on all possible levels, even though he personally seems to be a loveable man.
