Greta, DLJ Usually notifies within 1 minute, so that is an advantage normally. The problem is when the server goes down which is not often, but you can take a bath when it does. Yesterday morning it was out for about an hour, but this morning I traded without a problem.

I use their windows software, but you can check in the "orders and executions" pages on the web too. Example @#$@# CMGI. Thought I would be cool and buy some yesterday at the close. Took 2 seconds to get a confirm. Today, I was PO'd at the open and placed a sell order at market right away. It took 20 @#$@#$# minutes and cost me $400 extra buck cuz they were so @#$@#$ slow.
DLJ sends email confirms too but it is much quicker to get it off their web page.
