Arpril Issue: BCR: High-end RAS "Best Value"

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1998--Osicom Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIBR), today announced that its IQX-200 has been singled-out as the high-end remote access server offering the "Best Value" in report published in the April issue of Business Communications Review (BCR). The IQX-200 is an omni-functional RAS that consolidates unmatched scaleability and features on a single platform providing corporations and ISPs with a cost-effective solution to growth-related challenges. The report, conducted by Mier Communications, Inc., a network consultancy and independent product test center, evaluated high-end remote access servers from a select group of network technology leaders. Other company products tested include Cisco, Ascend, 3Com, RAScom, and Nortel.

According to the BCR published report: "At $215 per port, barely a third of what higher-priced systems like Nortel's and Ascend's cost, the IQX-200 is a good buy for the budget conscious enterprise....And you also get per-port throughput performance that rivals the higher-priced products."

"I'm not at all surprised that the IQX-200 would win 'Best Value,'" responded Joe Christensen, owner of the Ely, Nevada-based ISP, Internet Data Systems. "The IQX-200 is a high performance, high functionality remote access server that is very attractively priced. The product is unique in its scalability so that as we grow and need more than the 72 ports we purchased, we can do so easily and affordably through the incremental approach offered by the IQX-200."

"We are proud that the IQX-200 has been judged as providing the best overall value out of an elite grouping of RAS products," said PG Narayanan, Osicom's Executive Vice President, Operations. "We recognize this designation as further validation that our technology and market direction are ideally focused. The IQX-200 is already helping companies and ISPs cost-effectively connect with their geographically distributed end users."
