Set-top box maker lands huge order Scientific-Atlanta says Time Warner doubles order of interactive TV boxes in deal valued at about $500 million By Emory Thomas Jr. MSNBC April 23 ƒ_" Scientific-Atlanta Inc. announced Thursday that Time Warner has doubled its order of digital set-top boxes from the technology provider. Time Warner, which is using the set-tops to offer new channels and services to its cable-TV customers, has committed to purchase 1.1 million set-tops from Scientific-Atlanta over the next few years, up from 550,000, with an option to increase the number to 1.6 million.
