MSFT goes after Check Point

biz.yahoo.com

If they want to cooperate, to create products for our platforms, we will be happy to tell them our plans,'' Globes quoted Ballmer as saying in its Tuesday edition.

''If they wish to compete, they are invited to compete with us.''

I guess Ballmer has been smoking pot again? When was the last time
MSFT invited competition?

It never cease to amaze me that just the mere talk of MSFT
Going into another company's business have shareholders
Selling!

On the same note,

3D graphics accelerator chipset maker 3Dfx Interactive (Nasdaq:TDFX - news) slumped $4 7/8 to $26 1/2 following potentially ominous news in Intel's (Nasdaq:INTC - news) conference call yesterday. The chip giant said it plans to integrate auxiliary chips for graphics onto a single piece of silicon by next year, which is making folks in the graphics chip biz nervous.

Dan , you should make out like a bandit on this news, right.

I mean you are the marquee entertainer, the lounge singer of SI--no one is even a close second.Tell these guys to belly up or you're heading over to another site.

I hope this place doesn't go corporate on us:

biz.yahoo.com

The way these things internet get valued I imagine Bill would have to spend about 30MM + a premium to silence Dan.
Ain't this WWW great?

Microsoft book to tell all news.com

Another PR machine gears up. This is essentially the same story as last time, but what the heck, I didn't say anything about it then.

Dubbed Barbarians Led by Bill Gates: Microsoft from the Inside . . .

Ok, first of all, fix the title. "Barbarians of Bill Gates" would at least keep the proper cadence, but barbarian doesn't seem quite the right pejorative for the rogues of Redmond anyway.

"I watched my mother create the Bill Gates myth in the early '80s, and I've watched her spin the Microsoft image ever since," Jennifer Edstrom said in a statement. "But Marlin and I have gotten to the people who actually designed the software and wrote the code...and they have quite a different story to tell."

Jeez Louise. Is this revenge of the Microserfs or something? Like it's supposed to be a revelation that Microsoft software is, at times, shall we say, problematic? They were lying about the integrity and uniformity of the Windows experience? I'm shocked, shocked! to hear such a thing. Round up the usual suspects.

Cheers, Dan.
