You fail to understand that CRUS is still utilizing foundries in the far east. If you recall, I mentioned in the past that CRUS was afraid to loose the capacity if they pulled out of these areas and increased their loads at Micrus and Cirent. Remember, eveyone was afraid of a shortage of fab capacity. I do believe that there has been a surplus of capacity for quite some time now.

I am not sure what the mix is currently, but six months ago, 65% of their product was being fabricated overseas. The argument was and probably still is that the markets for these chips are in Taiwan, Korea and Japan so why fabricated here and send them over there?

If that is still the case, how about getting out of Micrus? I don't think it wise to get out of Lucent. The plan was and still is to use this fab to get to the lower architectures.
