"Messiah- n. messias the anticipated deliverer and King of the Jews."

"Messianic Jew would seem to be a correct use of the word"
-------------------------------------

Messianic Jew can equally apply to those Jews, like Hasidic Jews, who reject Jesus and say they are still waiting for the first coming of a Messiah, or it could mean a Jew that accepts Jesus. It is a totally ambiguous term and causes confusion. The antichrist Jew who says he is waiting for a messiah is as much a messianic Jew than the Jew who has been Born Again through the cross of Jesus.

When you say a Christian or a Christian Jew, it is unambigious and also historical. The Apostolic gneration of Jews who accepted the Messiah called themselves Christians and started the Christian Church. Christian is the appropriate and God-ordained name of the followers of Jesus.
