I've been on this ride before with CNCX (Concentric Network - Internet Provider). I bought in shortly after the IPO at $14.50...rode it down to $8 and rode it back up where I mistakenly sold it for $18. I sold out early because I had to ride it down so hard. Of course, shortly after my $18 sell, it bounced to almost $30. And CNCX hasn't even made penny-one yet! (unlike TDFX!)

Because of the blow out earnings and small float, and number of small new investors in TDFX, I'm guessing we are being manipulated. All orders must be settled within 3 days. I'd recommend all of us small guys taking a breather and giving the stock least 3 trading days from when the carnage started. (Next Monday) Let's see if the MMs can manipulate things longer than that.

If you liked this stock at $35, you gotta LOVE it here. People don't think there will be at _least_ a pre-earnings run-up? Look at the premium the October 30's are getting!

Once again you and many others are shifting the blame to the market. This rational is only partly true. Small investors run due to a lack of accurate information and disinformation disseminated by shorts, competition, etc. 3DFX response to competition is non-existant.

3DFX has mis-handled their marketing and PR. Whether or not this is a growth stock and company depends on the mass market buying this product, not the pent up demand from gamers. There is a need for 3D acceleration but go ask Joe Blow to buy one and he'll say "I don't play games that much" proving that the larger ramifications of this technology or the differences in accelerators are not apparent.

Additionally, a week ago we Bulls were proven right to be enthusiastic but then this fiasco bashed in our heads. I trade to make money, not support companies.
