News Release
Mr Mark Roberts reports
Taylor Rig, a subsidiary of Westrend, will deliver four service rigs to Houston, Texas before the end of April to be shipped to Indonesia. These four rigs will have a sales price of approximately $3-million (Canadian).

Taylor Rig is also finalizing an order with a Texas based operator next week on a 450 series service rig. The president of Taylor Rig, will be travelling to Alaska during the last week of April to hopefully finalize the sale of a drilling rig to an Alaskan based operator and such rig will be contracted to British Petroleum. This complete drilling rig package has a total purchase price of approximately $4-million (Canadian). In addition, Taylor Rig has recently sold an additional carrier to Gefco, of Enid, Oklahoma, and is finalizing its negotiations to supply Gefco with all of its smaller carrier line. Taylor Rig finalized its design and quote respecting this line of carriers this week.

Westrend is finalizing its negotiations with an onshore and offshore wireline company in Louisiana whereby a joint venture between Alamo Logging Services and this wireline operator will place Alamo in a position to gain access through wireliners operators existing clients, into the offshore wireline logging business. This will reduce Westrend's overhead and general administrating expenses because this new wireline operator will assume those responsibilities and costs.

The negotiations with a company that is going public in the US in the near future are progressing. However, since these negotiations are covered by numerous confidentiality agreements between the parties, management of Westrend is not at liberty, at this time, to release any specific details on this transaction being contemplated.
