Record Quarterly Revenues and Shipments

FREMONT, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Visioneer, Inc. (Nasdaq:
VSNR) today reported net revenue of $20.0 million and net income of
$335,000 or $0.02 per share for its first fiscal quarter ended March 31, 1998.
Net revenue for the quarter increased by $9.9 million over the year-earlier
quarter, a 99% increase. Hardware shipments for the quarter totaled 149,000
units and software shipments, including PaperPort Deluxe(TM) and
ProOCR100(TM), totaled over 68,000 units.

"We remain focused on achieving consistent profitability," said J. Larry Smart,
Visioneer's president and chief executive officer. "These results represent our
third sequential quarter of growth in revenue, and software and hardware
shipments. We continue to be very pleased by the market acceptance of our
products."
