AMTD is taking a loss of around 2 dollars per transaction. Has anyone else heard the same?

Dunno about that, but here's a trade that cost them quite a bit more.

I complained to the thread a few days ago about the abysmal execution of my MARG trade <https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=4147836>. I also complained to Ameritrade.

Today they called back. They admit they screwed up the trade and gave me a buy at $18 3/4 (down from $25 3/4) and a sell of $27 (which it turned out had happened anyway). That's an additional $1,300 for me.

I would have preferred a quick execution and confirmation in the first place, but Ameritrade should be commended for coming through this time and righting a wrong.

Datek with its incredible Island system still will get my day trades, but after this I'll gradually try reacquainting myself with Ameritrade.

The problem is the phone does not work either. You have to wait
before you can talk to a live person. Sometimes, it takes several
minutes. I have wait at least 5 minutes on one occasion and hung up
after getting no response. I do have other accounts somewhere
which did not offer internet trading until recently. I have asked
one of them to offer it but wait for too long. Recently, I found out
why. They are more reliable and get faster response. I get confirmation once the trade is done. Compared to what I experienced
this morning (I got confirmation by checking the order status after
market close and never get confirmation which I have requested
through email), I am willing to pay a few more dollars for each trade.
Actually, I am paying less with another broker but just tied up most
of my money with Ameritrade right now.
