Limitex,

I echo your sentiment except for the typos. If Michael has some pull with the SNDK marketing people maybe they will listen. I also think they should make the CompactFlash standard more visible and educate sales people about the technology. When I go to camera stores they invariably say "smart card" for everything and that is an unintentional vote of confidence for SmartMedia. The CompactFlash insignia should be prominent and easily identified like the APS standard (and logo),Dolby (and its corresponding label) for audio products or MMX or CompactFlash need to be appreciated as the industry standard for digital imaging regardless of who is producing the chip.

I hope everyone has seen the Lexar homepage. I also read in a computer supply magazine that PNY is producing a CompactFlash chip. There seems to be a groundswell of interest in CompactFlash which can only benefit Sandisk. Even if they are subject to pricing pressure, whatever those pressures may be, the royalties will not evaporate.

SNDK should start thinking about some of the issues we have raised especially as MMC becomes more accepted. The same rules apply there.
