Check the NEWS only thread for my CC summary/transcript. I took everything down that I could, and I think with a bit of practice I could be decent at dictation.

Anyway, I found that there was very little information in the conference call. It wasn't terrible, but there just wasn't much news that we didn't already know.

Most of the time was spent discussing Cymer's future plans, the wonderful properties of DUV lithography, the competitive situation with Komatsu, and the upcoming Orion and 5010 lasers. Well, we know that Cymer has aggressively built a worlwide service and support organization, DUV is the neatest thing since sliced bread, Komatsu is no competition whatever the rumor says, and that 5010 is a nice upgrade and that Orion is going to be great for scanners.

The high points of the call for me was to hear that ASP's were rising for some parts, the DLJ analyst say "Congrats on a great quarter" and the company successfully deflect any concerns about Komatsu doing anything of interest.

The discouraging part is that inventory seems to be rising and that North America is weakening somewhat.

Only the most bullish of us expected a blowout quarter. That was clearly wrong. Maybe next quarter. The fundamentals are still intact. If you want to hold a semi equipment maker, this is one of the best. If you don't want to hold through this slow cycle, that's fine, too. I have faith in Cymer and will continue.

Comments? (especially if you got anything out of the conference call that I glossed over)
