I think you and Allan, the King of France, are both a bit right. There are alot of idiots out there that buy a stock solely for the reason "because it is doing well" with no clue of valuation. These same people, that I talk to often, do nada in the return department for their net worth while I and many others here, like the Energizer bunny, are knocking down 20+ and 30+ percent a year gains, year after amazing year, simply by looking for value (great companies at bargain prices).

Bob's taken alot of the fun out of it thru his show by pointing out how easy it is to do the same with a few good index funds! <grin> Some of us might brag of beating the index funds one year or more, but I must admit that I trail them this yr. (darn Company stock is holding still).

I must admit that the long bond being 5.98% has me a bit worried... sure seems high relative to inflation and market valuation. If the market gain was partly due to low inflation, you would have thought the long bond going back to near 6% would have been worth a few percentage ticks off the S&P500. NOw I think it might just be a rachet to move the market up when its yield dips....
