Hi, Funk

I think you're right about CyBerTrader and A.B. Watley having the same clearing firm.

The short list is, in my opinion "very" short. In all fairness and honesty, I think it's the one area where they are disadvantaged. They say it's because they play by all the rules. Personally, I'd rather have more to short and worry about the rules another day, if I could get away with it.

I've complained and have seen the short list triple in recent weeks. They say it's gonna get better soon. I suggest they may need to get a new clearing firm. That would be just fine with me.

I agree with you 100% about some of the best traders going short more than long. Today would have been an excellent day for those type traders (of which I am one).

Even with the inadequate short list, I like CyBerTrader so much that I am using it now and, frankly, hopeful that the short situation will improve soon. The things I like about CyBerTrader are too significant for me to worry at this point about the short list. But I am watching it. <g>

I hope this answers your question. Good luck in the market!

Bill Dwyer

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about using cable modem for trading ?

Would it improve much ?

What about security issues ?

I find that during busy hours, I am lagged by about 30 secs, as far as real time quotes goes.

Thanks for your tips.

PS. Because @Home cable internet service finally comes to my area. I am thinking of installing it. Though I am not sue how reliable it is for using PC quote or Cybertrader type of real time quotes and order entry.

I heard some guy had accidentally broadcast his confidential infos to the local LAN in his area, through cable modem.
