The big $$$ will be made on the CO side of xdsl. Westell is the first to market with a CAP/DMT compatible DSLAM. There will be some $$$ on the CPE side initially and vendors like Westell when BEL announces, will get their share. However, first to market is important in an technology and Westell's DSLAM will help Telcos initially deploy without having to wait for the standards board. Westell will also be first to market with standard compliant equipment. First to market means Westell will be able to sell at higher margins especially on the CPE side...Eventually the CPE side will be comotitized similiar to the 33k & 56k modems..Yet the Co side will always have the flavor of $$$ and Westell's experience at the CENTRAL OFFICE is why a large data intergrator would be interested in making them part of the family....Of yes, just wanted to say hi to all thoses Westell staffers in San Diego-RestUP...We are expecting big things from you.
