Alex, I can't believe you didn't get more commentary on that one. BO England also happens to be the one regulating the LBMA.

I take the article as an unusually explicit warning. "You know that gold we 'loaned', well it wasn't exactly a loan."

Provides all kinds of insight into why the POG has been in a bear for the 18 years corresponding to derivatives trading.

And furthermore, doesn't that suggest that the ANOTHER poster may indeed have some personal or inside infoormation about the gold market.

Hoky as it all sounds, it's very consistent with the statement that as gold is "managed to the $320 - $360 range" there may be a "crush to cover," putting an end to the gold market.

Hi, Alex...1Q if I may, who/what is "The Guardian" source you quoted re: bad loans?

Secondly,
The explanation proferred by this Atkinson fellar is completely plausible, and one that has been proferred before, i.e., the borrowing of CB gold (which, remember, has NEVER left the BoE vaults) and turning same into jewelry...

which if you stop and think about it...
1) the gold never left the BoE vaults
2) yet it got turned into jewelry
is a conundrum of no small import!

Think about it, and thx for the excerpt.
Looking forward to your illumination re: who is Guardian.

Appreciate your posts.
